SHINDU - Just Go (Remix) (CONT007)
February 4, 2013 - by labeladmin
A few weeks after the release of ‘Just Go’, the new single from Belgian discopopduo Shindu, comes the remix package.
After erupting with a spot-on cover of Siouxsie & The Banshees ‘Happy House’ on Kitsuné, Chibi and Christopher have proved here they can pen and produce great songs of their own. ‘Just Go’ is a perfectly formed entity, throwing drama on the dancefloor to the sound of mesmerizing sequences, sensual robodisco that works as much at home than in the clubs. The remixes sail towards different shores without ever losing sight of the original song.
First Continental’s in-house duo from down south Reflex deliver one of their best works to date. After a dozen of remixes Ludmila et André are unstoppable and have really done their homework turning out a glam peaktime anthem that’s all glorious electric stabs and carefree summery vibes. Watch for their second single soon on Continental…
Next are Poland’s finest Kamp!, remember their fabulous ‘Cairo’ last year? The impressive electro-pop-rock trio pitches the vocal down for a winning housed-up rendition, complete with pianos and filtered breakdowns, that’s as mystifying than it is efficient on the dancefloor.
Talking of which, Paris-based Plaisir de France – once known as Sweet Light – delivers a restless cut-up dub that loops and loops, think My Bloody Valentine vs Todd Terry. Edited to maximum effect by Continental’s Jerry Bouthier, this sexy hypnotic groover punctuated by rollercoaster builds and drops is this release’s free download.
New French talent Oxford rounds off an eventful package with a gorgeous re-rub that hits the nostalgic spot without losing the beat. Blue-eyed soul mood à la Phoenix/Zoot Woman combined to Ghent’s electrodisco zing forms a marriage celebrated in heaven.

SHINDU - Just Go (CONT006)
January 24, 2013 - by labeladmin
It’s summer 2011 in Ghent, the legendary Belgian town that spawned 2 Many DJs, Eskimo, The Glimmers…when a boy dj and a girl singer collide to create Shindu, a duo all about fun and passion for pop/electronic music. Flemings Chibi and Christopher explode on the scene with their debut single ‘Happy House’ on Kitsuné, an astute rendition of the Siouxsie & The Banshees hit, produced with Moonlight Matters.
Shindu quickly becomes recognised as a new and refreshing synthpop sensation and the duo soon dreams up stories of conquering the global dancefloors. They’ve been described as club, indie and disco, yet it’s fair to say they’re a bit of all that and more. Their main ambition? Getting better and better at writing fab songs. As it goes, their third single - their debut on Jerry Bouthier’s Continental records - sees the pair make a huge leap from keen hipsters covering good stuff to talented songwriters.
This release presents Shindu’s original mix in all its glory, featured by ATTAR! in his latest mixtape, and a stripped down dub edited by Jerry Bouthier for those djs who like a lil less vocals. Canada’s Cyclist completes the package by providing a deep and laidback reinterpretation that’s ideal for late sets. More hot remixes to follow…Just Go was released on November 4th 2012

KILL THE HERO ft. MAGGIE K DE MONDE - Surrender (CONT005)
January 24, 2013 - by labeladmin
Introducing Kill The Hero, Japan’s latest electrodisco duo on the move, comprising Osaka’s famed dj Taku Hero and sidekick Kila, who have both made their marks on this imposing city’s club scene over the past few years. Indeed, any notable dj booked in Osaka inevitably finds Taku on the bill, doing his thing, which usually means expert scratching, acapellas thrown in and most certainly the latest FX technology raring to go in the mix.
Enter Maggie K de Monde, formerly the vocalist of late 80s pop duo Scarlet Fantastic, whose hit ‘No Memory’ developed into a cult classic still revered today thanks to pushes by Andy Weatherall & co at Boys Own’s legendary acid house parties. The artistic collision between her legendary glammed-up vocalizations and this renowned Japanese duo’s big room approach has given rise to ‘Surrender’, a hymn to the energy that drives love through the darkness of the night until the dawn’s early light.
On the release, Kill The Hero provide vocal & instrumental mixes and are joined by an impressive cast for a varied set of mixes. Continental’s own stalwarts do the label proud, with pop duo Reflex delivering a straight-up club scorcher and new Swiss protégés Mannequine providing a superb rendition of their own. The Australians are back on board, Shazam amps up the bounce factor with his trademark groove whilst new hot property Lancelot goes a little twisted. Not forgetting another praised Japanese export, Jun from 80Kidz takes a radical direction under his Note Factory guise. Rounding out the package is none other than France’s Play Paul, kicking off his new wave project Tulip with an inspired alternative version.‘Surrender’ was released on September 23rd 2012
