Continental Records is taking it to the club on 8 June, when Avant Garde will be presenting the first Continental Records night at the L’Envers Club in Nancy. Label artists REFLEX will be playing with label man Jerry Bouthier, joined by local support. Check out the cool promotional video above!

Adamski - I Like It (Video)

With the release of Adamski’s EP next Monday 28 May on Continental, we present the official video for the release’s lead track I Like It, produced by London’s Ladypat in the wacky and off-the-wall style of the track itself. Artist Profile: Adamski

With a musical history stretching back to the eighties, Adamski (also known as Adam Tinley) remains one of pop’s great British eccentrics, forever fusing house, electro and new wave with catchy choruses and all around dementia. Inspired by punk ethos, he swore he’d never compromise and went off on an idiosyncratic journey galvanized by Ibiza’s original party spirit and fuelled by his acid-house anthems ‘NRG’ and ‘Killer’.  

Since then his performances across the world have been complemented by a stream of releases as Adam Sky on tastemakers imprints Kitsuné, Crosstown Rebels and Exploited. Now reprising his original Adamski identity, he returns to discotheques with a vengeance and a bagful of hot dance tunes and enough pop appeal for Continental to welcome this unique character into its growing stable.

Watch out, here comes Adamski! Hot on the heels of our highly acclaimed second release comes the one and only British eccentric (with his very own Wikipedia page) making his debut on Continental Records, with his I Like It EP bursting with energy between the A-side I Like It and B-side Wot Happened To U, and remixes provided by ATTAR!, Mirror People and Blackjoy. Take a listen on the player below and on our cloud page. Release date is Monday May 28 on Beatport, Juno, iTunes France and iTunes US.

Artist Profile: REFLEX

Born and bred under the scorching sun of Southern France, André Dalcan and Ludmilla Cassar are a pairing both inside and outside the studio. Together they produce and perform as REFLEX. André is an established French DJ boasting a consistently solid tour diary and a rising international profile, with years of production experience under his belt. Ludmilla (Lud for short) is a gifted singer and songwriter with a refined ear for melodies and great hooks, as much at ease behind keyboards as on the bass. Their music translates perfectly to the stage for their energetic live shows infused with a rock attitude. Rock? Remember they’re Frenchies… 

Don’t get them wrong though, we’re talking about funky electro-disco here, with shades of balearic (the sand, the sea, the sky and the sun of their natural habitat) and even indie (‘I may be hot, but I’m no bimbo…’). Set over cascades of vintage synths, head-spinning arpeggios, fat analog basslines and 808 claps, the Eighties are never far away, but this is no revival as the duo keep their eyes firmly focused on the future. With choruses that evoke memories of a carefree past, their songs fill your heart and mind with feelgood vibes and don’t let go. Try as you might, there’s just no way to resist falling in love with REFLEX.
